'Preity Zinta: Kitchen is my gym...'
Preity Zinta breezed in Kolkata to launch Emami Group's edible oil brand 'Healthy and Tasty'. The actor chats up with our correspondent on food and fitness
It's hard to see Preity Zinta as a brand ambassador of edible oil. What makes you to endorse an oil brand now?
Don't sound so rude yaar (smile)! It's not that I am endorsing a regular oil brand with loads of cholesterol and unhealthy stuffs.
Have you used this oil yourself?
Of course, yes! As I had the opportunity to use the oil, I am fully convinced that Healthy & Tasty will break the myth that health and taste cannot go hand-in-hand in food. On the contrary, maintaining a healthy lifestyle even by consuming tasty food will now be a certainty with the Healthy & Tasty brand. The brand will help any food sparkle with both health and taste.
Are you a foodie?
I love food. But I believe in quality not quantity.
What is your kind of food?
I swear by Indian food. Idli-dosas, chaat, chhola bhatura, kadhi chawal...you name it and I am ready to gorge on them. And also rasgullas...you can't resist them especially when you are in Kolkata. And I prefer homemade food than that served in plush restaurants. Surprised!
Yes. A bit. But then, how do you manage to stay so fit...hours in the gym?
Kitchen is my gym. And so is for almost every Indian. I am extremely health conscious and so is my family. We actors lead a hectic lifestyle and have little or no time to hit the gym regularly. The only way we can stay fit is by eating healthy. But then, it doesn't mean that I don't work out at all. I do that whenever I get time.
Can you cook?
Oh yes! I am a very very good cook. Ask anyone who has tried my dishes and you will know.
What are the dishes you can cook?
I can cook almost everything. Anyone who savours good food and has a taste for different kinds of cuisine will invariably turn out to be a good hand in the kitchen.
Are you keeping your fingers crossed for your team Kings XI Punjab at IPL 3?
We are discussing food and from where does IPL drop in here? Anyway, no IPL and film queries please.

Soldier Hindi movie The Making

Preity a hot gossip topic of B-town
Guess who was the hot topic of discussion on the sets of a film? Preity Zinta. A bunch of Bollywood stars after the director had announced ‘pack-up’, were heard sitting and gossiping about the actress .
“When stars have no work, they usually say ‘I’m reading a few scripts let’s see how it goes. Actually in reality, they have no work,” laughed a senior actor and added, “Preity’s now saying the same thing.
Bollywood is like a conveyor belt, if you are off it, you can’t get onto it again,” he said. “Preity’s ‘innings’ is over,” he added. To that another actor said, “When their career is rocking, they say ‘I’m tired of doing commercial films, I want to do something more meaningful and then when they get a jolt, they promptly go on to say, ‘I’m dying to do a hard-core masala film.’” Gossip mongers beware, the fiery Preity Zinta won’t take any of this lying down.
“People don’t know that today I’ve made so much money that I don’t need to work for the rest of my life. But I can’t sit doing nothing. I’m busy with my IPL team, my production house and also with the TV show I’m going to host,” she had said besides of course, “reading a few scripts!”

the film is simply superb... fantastic.... amazing mind blowing :D
I do love SRK but today I love him more than I ever love him before :D
He too good... u know what word can I said about SRK????

'Gladiator' Dhoni & 'Superwoman' Preity shoot Emami Cooking Oil commercial
On the cricket field, they may belong to rival IPL teams but when Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain of Chennai Super Kings) and Preity Zinta (co-owner of Kings XI Punjab) came together for an ad shoot yesterday, all rivalry was forgotten. Mahi and Preity shot a commercial for Emami Cooking Oil and if these pics are anything to go by, the chemistry between them was indeed there for one and all to see. Dhoni was dressed in a Gladiator like avatar, while PZ was given a Super-woman like get-up with a body-hugging silver dress and a red cape to go with.While the commercial was directed by noted ad-man Prahlad Kakkar, a special photo shoot featuring the duo was done by ace-photographer Dabboo Ratnani. We got in touch with Dabboo and asked him about his experience of this special photo shoot, "It was a great experience shooting with Preity and Dhoni. They first shot for the commercial with Prahlad Kakkar and then did this photo-shoot which we will use in the ad posters. I've shot with Preity countless times before, she is very charming and a complete sweetheart to work with. As for Dhoni, this was probably the second or third time that I was doing a shoot with him. He is extremely cool, chilled out and very receptive. He was totally involved in the photo shoot, putting in his 100% effort and was very comfortable in front of the camera. All in all, we had a great time."
The commercial is likely to go on air in ten days from now when Dhoni's Men In Blue will be busy taking on the South African cricket team in what promises to be a grueling contest.
