“I am not heart broken”
Days after ,sitting in her 14th floor sea facing office in Bandra ,Preity was picture of sincerity and calm .Above all she radiated a confidence that announced that she was completely in charge of her life .”This my time and I’m going to hold on to it,” she announced with a smile .The four week holiday in Los angles ,London and Paris has worked it’s magic. Lighter in spirit , the only excess luggage “ she had returned was courtesy her shopping spree in Paris.
Spend in the company of loved ones ,the holiday was the perfect antidote to exhaustion and recent pressures .With the break ,Preity had gracefully turned her back on a series of troubling reports .Some were minor irritants like tales of romance with high profile New work –based Vikram Chatwal,Aussie cricketer Brett Lee as well as her Kings XI Punjab team captain and old time pal Yuvraj Singh.But all these paled in comparison with confirmation of the news that she and long time steady companion , Ness Wadia had broken up.
Even before the start of the second IPL season in April season in April this year ,there were talks of cracks in their relationship.Preity went solo at the Filmfare Awards on Feb 28 and the Lakme Fashion week the following month .During the IPL in South Africa ,the couple was rarely spotted together .During matches ,Preity would sit by herself either an the reserved box or in the dug-out while Ness would play with their guests.On rare occasions when they were at the same venue for team events ,Preity and Ness would keep their distance
The actress and the industrialist scion who had been inseparable for the last four years ,first meet just before her 30th birthday in 2005 .Common passions like traveling and sports brought them together .Last year ,the couple along with Dabur’s Mohit Burman

Through on record ,Ness mother Maureen told People in June this year:”Preity has been a nice girl and I like her very much “,sources said that she did not exactly approve of her son’s choice .Componded with their own expectations of the relationship-Preity wanting to marry and settle and Ness’s hesitance about the big step-the split was inevitable .
Reflecting on this change in her relationship status ,Preity views it through her “always positive outlook” and prefers to be optimistic .”We had a great relationship .I have lots of respect for Ness and I always will.But I think sometime you want to take a different path in life , and if you have the maturity to see that ,then life is great for both the people involved .”
Through their personal relationship has ended ,Preity is confident that the altered equation between Ness and her is unlikely to affect her role in the Kings XI Punjab team.” At least now people will stop saying that Ness Had brought the team for me ,”she jokes before adding ,”We are going to continue working together .More importantly ,we are always going to be friends. May be not best of friends though.” The end when it ended was achingly difficult, but was providentially timed well with her biannual Vacation .Says Preity ,”Before I left for the holiday, I was mentally and physically exhausted.”
Split between Los Angles, London and Paris holiday did her world of good .”When I’m not working ,I always have fun,” she says, showing off the famous dimples .This was the first time in 15 years that Preity an her best friend Shagun Khanna vacationed together .Thw two best friends would spend the days walking around Hyde park in London ,shopping, eating and talking late into night .”What Shagun and I share is amazing .We can talk about any and everything from clothes to world politics .”
“Shagun and I have been friends since school but we’ve never gone on a holiday together .She lives in New Delhi so I stay with her when I’m there .This year she was in London with her sons Adhiraj and Suryavir while I was vacationing there.”After spending few days in Hotel ,Preity moved in with Shagun .”I was sharing a bathroom with Adhiraj.Both of us listen to music on our Laptops while we brush. Who would have thought?” she says with laugh.
One night the BFFs desided to play DJ,exchanging music and burning individual CDs .And while they chose those tracks and burn them ,the duo remembered the band they wanted to form in school.”Ofcourse ,it never happened because neither of us could sing nor play instruments, before burst out laughing .
Before joining Shagun in London in Preity spend week with her brother Manish and he four-year-old niece Maya in L.A.”When I landed in L.A,I was so exhausted .For the first couple of days I was holed up up in my hotel room.I would just order room service ,watch movies on-demand and asleep.My perfect holiday involves sleeping a lot.”
Once she had gotten over jet lag and nad her full of movies ,Preity spend some quality time with Maya .”We would play games together .I would be monster chasing her through the house .We make up songs and she enjoy shopping with me “
Preity kept her phone switched off while she enjoyed her vacation, but now she‘s back it has been ringing off the hook.” There is so much work .On the cricket front, there will be post-IPL analysis ,I have dubbing left for Main aur Mrs Khanna ,which should release this year, as should Har pal. I’m listening to new scripts and should start shooting from October .And I’m working on some ventures outside of cricket and movies.”
Preity has always believed that life is pre-destined .So, Whether it’s her career or personal life ,she has never planned too muchin advance .”I’m the moat spontaneous person on the planet.I believe everhing happens for the best.I always find a reason to do what I want to do .Very rarely have I regretted a decision .”
So,Preity has ’no regrets about her relationship with Ness’.”Love is unconditional, through it is difficult to be completely unconditional .A relationship is about two person making small compromise to be together. I don’t have any regrets about my relationship with Ness .Thank god it was fantastic relationship and we had great time together.”
Now that Preity is back on the singles block, she is enjoying her new status .I haven’t been single for long time so it feels different but a good different .You compromise a lot of things that complete you as a person .As a singleton ,you get back to being you .It almost like reintroducing to yourself.” Being single has also shuffled her priorities .”Work and friends tend to suffer when you are in a relationship.”
She might be single but that doesn’t mean that Preity doesn’t think about of marriage and motherhood .” I have always maintained that I want to get married when I want to have kids .And that day I feel that ,hopefully everthing falls into place ,”she says ,crossing her fingers.”I want to take my time ,be prepared before take the plunge.I want marriage to last forever and I want secure family.”
But for now Preity is happy having her own space.”I’m in a very good space right now .I’m not one of those people who needs to constantly be with someone .Contary to rumours I’m neither breaking people’s marriages nor I am heartbroken and licking my wounds .I’m very happy and confident with myself today.”

“Friends of mine took me to hiking in L.A .I didn’t know that it was possible to hike in L.A,but there was small hill about 40 minutes out of L.A.I got really tired by the end of the hike because I didn’t expect it to be so tough.”

”I brunt two CDs with lots of party music and hip-hop.I don’t like hip-hop too much but I like artist like P.Diddy ,Usher,Akon.The playlist included both our (Preity and Shagun’s )favorites.”
IN PARIS
Shopping
I shopped in L.A,London and also in Paris where I holidayed with Surily[Goel] for few days .I picked quite few outfits from the new Dolce and Gabbana collection. They are amazing.”
